Cantering Heavy Horse, Leopard Spotted, Like Beswick

Traditional Scale, cast in earthenware and purchased in bisque from a New Zealand pottery in bisque and custom glazed by me in 2018.  

Approximately 20cm tall x 25cm across

This is the "White Horse Molds Co" copy of the Beswick Cantering Shire, a commercial mould making company that closed decades ago.

He was one of the first pieces that I custom glazed when I returned to the hobby after a 12 year hiatus, so he has a bit of history for me:-)

Underglazed with simple airbrush shadings, he has haloed spots, some antiqued shading in his feathering, mane and tail, realistic eyes, hooves etc.  Beautiful thick, gloss glaze and he's quite a heavy piece too, they didi a thick pour on this fella.
