Franklin Mint Porcelain "Thoroughbred" Custom Glazed Curio
Curio Scale "Thoroughbred" in fine porcelain by Pamela du Boulay. Released by the Franklin Mint in one of their "The Great Horses of The World" collections.
Measures approx 12cm tall at the ear tips by 21cm across, nose to tail.
Artfully custom over-glazed through multiple kiln firings, firstly lightened a tad to a lighter and glossier brown; then to this softly shaded and absolutely beautifully highlighted mahogany bay, with reddish tones and super subtle dappling around his barrel, some silver/flax in his tail; detailed eyes, striped hooves, blaze and little white socks, and signed art-glazed base. Please note, that if you are a model horse shower, this little horse might not be "perfect" enough for the show-ring. I say that because his design (stretched/linear gallop) means his forelegs cross over. Yes I know real horses do this, and I know this will have no bearing at all on a collector who does not show, I just wanted to point it out;-)
Beautiful in person, this is a lovely and delicate galloping Thoroughbred is full of personality and sure to look stunning in your curio cabinet.
All porcelain pieces ship packed into foam blocks. If you would like double boxing, please purchase the option in the shop ($5 extra per box).
