COMMISSIONS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED - WILL RETURN IN AUSTRALIAN SPRING!

Order your commissioned portrait here!

Commissioned portraits of your heart horse are available here.  Each piece is individually hand poured, cleaned and fired to bisque, in earthenware china (same as Beswick, Hagen-Renaker, Pour Horse, Cheval etc), before being hand decorated in either matte, satin or gloss finish to your colour and markings of choice.  The sculptures available for commissions are all "gender indeterminate", so please make sure to add if you require "boy bits" added!  There are 6 of my current PPP Moulds which are able to be commissioned, please read on for more information and pricing.

Information and Pricing for Commission Orders

Each portrait order requires a non-refundable $50 deposit for me to hand make your bisque piece from scratch.  This can take 4 - 12 weeks, depending upon my current work load and climatic conditions.

Once you've chosen your sculpture, please fill out the form and let me know your basic requirements to get a quote.  I will be back in touch for more information as required.  Decorative bases can also be made in earthenware and custom glazed to your requirements.  Please let me know if you require this service, and I will go into more detail with you when I reply to your initial inquiry.

BISQUE PRICES

All pieces require a non-refundable deposit of $50 AUD for me to make your bisque.  This covers the cost of the slip; pouring and assembly of your sculpture; fettling and cleaning; firing to bisque at over 1060 degrees Celsius; polishing and further refinement of the pieces (carving out ears, heel bulbs, adding "gelding parts" etc).

ADD a custom glazed presentation base: Small $35 (pony), Medium $45, Large (Gaited horse) $55.

DECORATION PRICES

Solid colours: $100

Add minimal white markings (star, snip, small socks etc): $15

Add large white markings (stockings, blaze): add $25

Add Dun factoring (dorsal stripes, leg barring, face masking etc): add $25

Pintos (Overo, Tobiano etc) minimal markings: add $50

Pintos, extensive markings: add $100 to $250 depending on amount of patches and complexity of total pattern.

Dapples, minimal/strategic: add $50

Dapples, extensive: add $100 - $250 depending on amount of spots and complexity of total pattern/colour.

Simple Roans (airbrushed roans): add $25

Spots, any pattern: add $100 to $250 depending on amount of spots and complexity of total pattern/colour.

**Note 1: Sgraffito work (where the colour is etched into the sculpture, e.g. roaning, ticking, lacing etc is not offered on portrait orders due to the labour intensity.

***Note 2: MATTE COLOURS require to be entirely decorated in coloured matte glazes (as opposed to being decorated with underglaze paints and then clear gloss or satin glaze).  This is even more time consuming and thus more expensive.

GLAZE PRICES

There are 3 types of finish available.

GLOSS: hand applied super diamond hard clear brilliance, permanently fired in at 1000 degrees Celsius.  Add $15

SATIN: hand applied satin clear gloss, a more muted shine, permanently fired in at 1000 degrees Celsius.  Add $15

MATTE: In a nutshell, you will be doubling your decoration cost as well as your production time if you decide to go with matte glaze.  Professional Matte glazes are expensive, and take many firings over many months to build the colour. They do not receive a clear glaze at the end.  The matte glazes are coloured.  The finished sculpture will have a "velvety" feel, rather than the glass like finish of gloss or satin.
